Map the work before the automation.

A workflow is a series of steps that moves information toward an outcome. Mapping it helps you understand where AI belongs, where rules are enough, and where a person needs to decide.

  1. Input: What starts the work, and what information is needed?
  2. Steps: What happens next, in what order, and in which tools?
  3. Decision points: Where does the path change? Who checks it?
  4. Output: What should exist at the end, and where should it go?
  5. Exceptions: What happens if data is missing or a step fails?
TRY THIS

Map an event follow-up: registration → audience check → reminder draft → human approval → send → record status. Mark the information and owner needed at each step.

Start with one repeatable process. Understand it before expanding it.
